My name is Jermaine Jefferson. I spent twelve years in health and fitness as a certified personal trainer. Then one brutal year took four members of my family, including my father, back to back.
That loss pushed me out of the gym and into the yard. If I did not take control of my family's food and health, nobody was coming to do it for me. So I traded a lawn for a garden, and that garden became a food forest that feeds my family year round.
This book came out of three months sitting in that garden with a pad and a pen. No fluff, no filler, no recycled advice from books written for northern winters. Just the reasons this matters, the mindset that keeps you going, and the simple steps that get real food on your table.
